Antwerp based producer and musicion Kingston Echo works from a Hi-Fi studio in his Hoboken backyard. He works completely analogue, records his love instruments straight to tape, and mixes his dubs in one go. And he does so using analogue effects and a vintage mixing table. Echo’s style is based upon the roots reggae sound from the 70s, with a wink to UK roots from the 70s and 80s. And in the meantime he adds a very recognizable and personal touch to it.
Echo takes along his fellow roots singer Nga Han to Reggae Geel. This Jamaican is a dedicated Rastafarian, who through his humble, spiritual sound transfers the ancient wisdom of roots reggae to the audience. Like nobody else he’s able to pinpoint the issues and suffering of today’s age. Together, they stand strong at our festival on Saturday!
